Between the chef's knife and the paring knife sits the petty. This all-purpose blade is equally at home slicing, dicing, mincing and peeling everything from fruit and veg to fish, protein and herbs.
It really is the jack of all trades and due to it's compact size provides brilliant versatility and mobility, especially for those with smaller hands or limited workspace.
The petty is by far my most popular design and also my personal favourite. It is the blade that I will instinctively pick off the rack for most tasks.
This knife, wearing stabilised Karelian birch and ancient bog oak dated to 3300BCE has been made to the highest standards and cuts an elegant form in any kitchen.
The ancient bog oak is paired with black g10 liners and aluminium spacers, repurposed from a disused ladder.
There is some history in this handle!
Since the blade is made from carbon steel it is NOT stainless and will build up a beautiful and unique patina with use. This blue, grey and black colouring will protect the blade from rust as it builds and acts as a record of all the things it has been through (literally)!
