A unique knife designed to be a daily user, this petty/utility knife has you covered when you need to quickly reach for a knife for all of those quick little tasks on the board.
With a blade length of 5.4", this one strikes a great balance between size and utility and may mean that you once and for all leave that old paring knife collecting dust at the back of a drawer.
The 26c3 aka 'Spicy White' high-carbon steel blade both take and retains a wickedly sharp edge while the glossy polished African Blackwood, vintage micarta and copper pinned handle add a bit of old world charm to your kitchen. The dark nature of the timber makes it hard to photograph or even see the grain, but when the light catches it just right it is very reminiscent of 'Tigers Eye' gemstone.
The blade has been lightly etched to bring out the 'hamon', a relic of the heat treatment process, during which the clayed spine of the knife cooled more slowly than the unclayed edge, leaving a visible dividing line between very hard and (slightly) softer steel. It also looks pretty damn cool.
*Since the blade is made from carbon steel it is NOT stainless and will build up a beautiful and unique patina with use. This blue, grey and black colouring will protect the blade from rust as it builds and acts as a record of all the things it has been through (literally)!
